DIPIN works with severely marginalised rural families. Our goal is to promote the advancement of poor people, using a series of holistic strategies for social and economic empowerment. We aim to nurture a sense of ownership within the community and assist self-generated, progressive change.Social Progress is determined in human terms. Our main investment is in human capital. We advocate a respectful attitude towards our communities. Our integrated programmes focus on the development of life skills. Our main objective is to assist self-development and self-sufficiency. We help to promote robust health, sound education, gainful occupation and clean surroundings. Our core commitment is to ensure the mental, spiritual and physical wellbeing of children and to secure their future. Children are the change and it is them that we aim to reach with your help. Our spotlight is always focused on the child as the centre of social advancement. There are bright but sadly neglected children with promise and potential who yearn for recognition and self-esteem and for a life beyond their immediate circumstances. Our priority is to support and develop their inner capabilities. We are committed to the protection and care of rural community health. In order to thrive, people need secure and hygienic environs. We seek to inform and educate the community on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. We sponsor timely immunization programmes and educative workshops on health and sanitation to combat indifferent health practices, poor nutrition and life threatening diseases. We help to maintain both environmental consciousness and quality and actively generate awareness on safe drinking water essentials and efficient waste management systems. In order to address the problems brought on by extreme poverty, our objective is to nurture partnerships with families. This empathetic relationship propels them towards their own social development. Basic education and the improvement of life skills promote self-worth and dispel ignorance. We build classrooms, develop curricula and run intensive training workshops for teachers at regular intervals. Steady employment ensures a secure income from work opportunities and allows poor people to afford the basics of a decent life. We offer financial advice and also provide micro-finance for business ideas. Our bio-farming incentives and the women’s self help groups further supports a healthy income generation. DIPIN has created a database of a detailed census in all our adopted villages. A demographic, socio-economic and health status base line is available for each household. This enables us to maintain and update records, which we use to monitor progress. |
